We want to know how to achieve a stable, economic, safe and sustainable electricity supply that guarantees our country&#8217;s energy independence, while the idea of a nuclear blackout in Spain persists. For us, technicians and also citizens, the answer &#8220;surely someone has thought about it&#8221; is not enough.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We demand clear and objective answers to the real problems we face, which in our case are the guarantee of electricity supply, the stability of transmission and distribution networks and the competitiveness of electricity prices. We ask for arguments supported with data, with certainty, to the doubts and reflections that we have raised as a sector and that we have collected at the time of the <\/span><b>#ManifiestoNuclear<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is no doubt about the urgency of tackling the major challenges we face. According to the EU roadmap, electricity demand is expected to be double in 2050, which means that the growth of carbon-free electricity generation and the non-use of fossil fuels should be encouraged as soon as possible. The conclusion of this analysis is that it is prudent and reasonable to delay at least the closure of nuclear generation in Spain, a conclusion reached in all EU countries except Spain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the European Commission has deemed nuclear power to be sustainable for achieving the goal of full decarbonization by 2050, and the UN has warned that global targets for limiting global warming will NOT be met if nuclear power is excluded, what should be the next steps?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Spanish nuclear industry is a source of skilled employment, economic wealth and social welfare, contributing more than 1,000 million euros a year in taxes, creating more than 20,000 jobs and providing society with a basic commodity, electrical energy, whose strategic value has already been clearly recognized in Europe, and we hope and expect that this approach will be applied to our country as soon as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After several electoral processes, and after the last one in June, it is time to ask ourselves: So what now?
