Los equipos b\u00e1sicos para la obtenci\u00f3n de im\u00e1genes son la gammac\u00e1mara SPECT (single photon emission computed tomography) y el tom\u00f3grafo PET (positr\u00f3n emission tomography).<\/p>\n<p>La Medicina Nuclear se alimenta no s\u00f3lo de los aportes puramente m\u00e9dicos de la cl\u00ednica y la fisiolog\u00eda, sino que se desarrolla gracias tambi\u00e9n a expertos en diferentes disciplinas, f\u00edsica, qu\u00edmica e ingenier\u00edas. Este desarrollo multidisciplinar hace que sea dif\u00edcil determinar el nacimiento de la Medicina Nuclear, sin embargo, dos hitos marcaron el comienzo de esta historia: el descubrimiento de la radiactividad artificial en 1934 y la producci\u00f3n de radion\u00faclidos para usos relacionados con la medicina en 1946.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.revistanuclear.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/fonendo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-2683 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.revistanuclear.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/fonendo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"274\" height=\"217\" \/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2683 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.revistanuclear.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/fonendo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"274\" height=\"217\" \/><\/noscript><\/a>Lo que hace \u00fanica a la Medicina Nuclear es el hecho de que la fuente de energ\u00eda utilizada para producir im\u00e1genes no es externa, como los rayos X o los ultrasonidos, sino que es administrada en forma de radiof\u00e1rmaco al paciente y se incorpora espec\u00edficamente al \u00f3rgano estudiado. Adem\u00e1s, la Medicina Nuclear no termina en el diagn\u00f3stico, es posible el tratamiento de algunas enfermedades tumorales mediante radiois\u00f3topos.
