These results are not mere figures: they reflect <\/span><b>firmness, predictability and stability<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the grid, conditions that are essential to advance the energy transition without jeopardizing <\/span><b>security of supply<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> while <\/span><b>storage<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>grids<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> do not evolve at the required pace. Moreover, nuclear power contributes to meeting the emissions-reduction commitments Spain has assumed at European and global levels.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nuclear energy also strengthens energy sovereignty by reducing external dependence and exposure to the price volatility of fossil fuels. Although the nuclear fleet is competitive from technical, operational and intrinsic cost perspectives, taxation accounts for approximately 75% of its variable costs and has increased by more than 70% over the past five years, which penalizes its economic viability.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spanish plants maintain high standards of safety and reliability, and the culture of excellence of the <\/span><b>Spanish nuclear industry is internationally recognized<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
