Although we are recently seeing the resurgence of nuclear power as a possible solution to escalating prices, it is also true that most of the closure plans are still in place, although they can be adapted to suit the situation. Spain is no exception, and a plan is in place that has been reflected in the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC).
This reality, which represents a national challenge, invites reflection on these plans and possible strategies to develop them with a constructive vision on leadership, on the involvement of industry and its supply chains, on human and material resources, on the efficiency of decommissioning processes and waste management. All this, with a view to the international scenario which, together with the experience of José Cabrera, will allow us to provide an efficient response to the challenge of the decommissioning of the national nuclear industry.
