The 50 Anniversary social event of the Spanish Nuclear Society

#50 Anniversary

On November 15, the 50th Anniversary Social Event of the Spanish Nuclear Society was held at the Mirador de Cuatro Vientos in Madrid.

Initially thought as the great “end of party” of the celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of the Spanish Nuclear Society, the event was adapted to the impact that the DANA occurred in Valencia and neighbouring communities only a few days before the celebration of this event.

Thus, at the opening, Héctor Dominguis gave a few minutes to describe the situation and the reactions of support that had been received and/or announced, both individual and from companies and institutions, including the SNE.

This emotional start was followed by highlighting the reasons of this celebration. It took place in a colloquium format between Mago More, master of ceremonies of the event, and Emilio Mínguez and Paulo Santos, president and vice-president of the SNE.

A hilarious monologue by Mago More got the first laughs of the afternoon.

Miguel Barreiro and Teresa Palacio took the audience through the history of nuclear energy in Spain, the founding of the Spanish Nuclear Society, the path taken to become what the SNE is today and an applauded compilation of its hallmarks, according to third parties, in word cloud format.

Then followed the awarding of prizes to the winners of the various competitions held during the year, under the name of Go Nuclear! Also for the photo contest for the winning photos of the annual competitions held since 1996.

Once again, the colloquium format was used by the Magician More and, in this case, Laura Ortega, the illustrator Snesh and Pau Aragón, to highlight the children’s story “Alara y la fábrica de luz” and the book of the basic course on nuclear science and technology, published on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary.

Iván Mora surprised everyone with his magic games. The magic continued to be present, at the hands of Horus and Iván Mora himself, while the cocktail tasted to conclude the event.

Before, it was time, of course, for the traditional family photo of all attendees..
